What is Folio Docs?

Folio Docs is the document layer Salesforce was missing — a 100% Salesforce-native managed package that keeps your Documents inside the org where they belong. Documents are linked to the records they're about, respect Salesforce sharing rules, and stay in sync with your CRM data automatically through Record Links, Live Fields, and inline Related Lists. No external services, no separate document silo, no integrations to maintain.

Why Folio Docs

  • Documents live on the records they're about. Every Document is anchored to the Salesforce records where the work actually happens, so your team finds the right context exactly where they expect to — no more hunting through Drive, OneNote, or random Slack threads.
  • Institutional knowledge stays with the business. Documents inherit Salesforce sharing rules and follow record ownership. When a rep leaves or an Account changes hands, the knowledge stays with the org instead of walking out the door in someone's personal drive.
  • Documents stay in sync with your CRM truth. Live Fields and inline Related Lists keep Documents current with Salesforce data automatically — no more stale numbers in week-old account plans, no more documents that contradict the record they describe.
  • Write-Back from the Document to the record. Admins can permission specific Live Fields for write-back, letting users edit Salesforce data directly from a Document while still respecting object-, record-, and field-level access.
  • Document orchestration through Flow. Folio's invocable Apex actions let admins automate document creation, sharing, linking, and tagging directly from Salesforce Flow — making Documents a first-class part of your team's workflows and processes.
