Salesforce Quip End of Life: What You Need to Do Before March 2027
Salesforce recently announced that Quip will reach end of life in March 2027. If your organization relies on Quip for documents, spreadsheets, or collaborative notes inside Salesforce, now is the time to start planning your migration.
What’s Happening?
Salesforce is discontinuing Quip as a standalone product and removing its integrations from the platform. After March 2027, Quip documents will no longer be accessible through Salesforce, and the service will be fully retired.
Who Is Affected?
Any Salesforce customer currently using Quip for:
- Documents linked to records
- Account plans and strategy docs
- Internal wikis and knowledge bases
- Meeting notes and project briefs
What You Should Do Now
1. Audit Your Quip Usage
Start by identifying how many Quip documents your organization has and which teams depend on them. Understand what’s linked to Salesforce records and what’s standalone.
2. Evaluate Replacement Options
Look for a document editor that works natively inside Salesforce, not a third-party integration that opens in a new tab. Your replacement should support:
- Rich text editing directly on Salesforce record pages
- Document linking to accounts, opportunities, and cases
- Templates for repeatable workflows
3. Plan Your Migration Timeline
Don’t wait until Q1 2027. Give your team at least two quarters to evaluate, pilot, and roll out a new solution. A rushed migration leads to lost data and frustrated users.
4. Export Your Data
Begin exporting critical Quip documents now. Salesforce may provide migration tools, but having your own backups ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
